The Yucatan Initiative Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established under xxxxx, with an explicit commitment to inclusion, diversity, and equity.
Objectives:
To encourage and promote the protection, conservation and recovery of the natural and intangible Maya cultural heritage of the Yucatan Peninsula, through knowledge, technological development, and responsible use that makes it sustainable, adaptable, and resilient.
To serve as an interface, conserving the biodiversity where the ancient and current Maya settled, generating new opportunities for sustainable economic, individual, and social development, seeking a balance between cultural wealth and opportunity.
To promote effective, comprehensive-approach solutions, that allow for the development of interested organizations’ and institutions’ capacities, and the development of local Maya communities through the responsible use of their resources.
To this end, we seek to implement feasible solutions from a comprehensive approach to the Maya cultural heritage, seeking transparency in its management and the enhancement of their resources
